SHITBAG is a show about Hayley Edwards who receives a life-changing diagnosis of Crohn's Disease. Due to this, they beginning failing down a spiral of fear, worried they will get a stoma bag (a shitbag), and decides its time for some wild oats to sew.
Hayley Edwards tells their story of dating both men and women, finding themself in some unexpected situations, and going from feeling incredibly lucky to the lowest possible.
With relatable casual sex stories, a strong emotional turn, a sharp storytelling, SHITBAG is a memorable show. Edwards starts the show listing the amount of trigger warnings, and they are not kidding, it touches all of them. However, by having all of them, you are able to break through awkwardness and go deep into the emotional resonance of the story.
As someone living with Ulcerative Colitis, a sister of Crohn's, this was a therapeutic and relatable show and I hope to see more like this at the Fringe!
