Anime-Zing Game Show - Edinburgh Fringe 2026 Review

Ok, SO I had no idea what to expect going in to this! There's a kid's version at around noon so I figured this one for meant for more adult anime nerds and was meant to be a game show maybe taking the p*ss out of anime, BUT turns out...it was also mostly meant for kids (posted in Comedy, not kids, I promise!) but I have to say it was lovely!

Two professional voice actors including Soness Stevens, the English voice of Hello Kitty for 25 years, lead a masterclass in voice acting using locally sourced animation and comic book projects and allowing kids and whoever wanted to participate to play warm up voiceover games, and then jump right in the deep end and voice a character in a real anime just like they're in a studio.

It really taught these kids an invaluable lesson of confidence in trying out something new and getting feedback from a long time professional. I can see these kids' eyes light up as they have fun and will likely go home and make some projects on their own.

Didn't know what to expect but came out with a huge smile on my face.
