I have been a fan of Darby since first seeing him as the manager in 'Flight of the Concords' and joining those creators again in 'What We Do in the Shadows'. His signature, high pitched New Zealand accent is unmistakable and his dry wit is true to him.
Seeing him perform standup is seeing a true professional in their element. Darby creates an hour's long narrative that seems disjointed at first but comes together in the end.
He tackles AI, robot vacuums, hover boards, Elon, Mark, and Bezos, as well as life as a father and a man in his 50s.
The jokes are sharp and his performance is full of energy.
A great performance.
