ALTAR is a two-hander, down to earth piece taking place outside one of the character's wedding.

Two friends, maybe more, reconnecting for the first time in 10 years can bring up some unexpected feelings, and those feelings can make you say erratic things. One friend has also come out as queer, adding another dimension of complication.

Although the performances were strong, the script veered way too much into "argument in the shower" territory where the characters had the perfect quip filled with statistics, studies, historical characters, quotes, etc, leaning it more into an unrealistic conversation. Although you could say there are incredibly smart people out there who speak like that, then at that point you are leaning towards pretentious.

The premise is brilliant, the chemistry is red hot, and the performances are sharp, and although I wasn't a huge fan of the script, I have to give it a solid 4!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
