Five Shows that Start Before Noon at Edinburgh Fringe 2024
300 Paintings
A show that has done well at other Fringes, this looks like a great show for those who dabble in art or want to enjoy it free from pretentiousness.
From the description:
"Is art a joke? Sydney artist and comedian Sam Kissajukian examines 300 paintings created during a five-month long manic bipolar episode. An epic story exploring art, mental health and creativity."

Summerhall - TechCube 0

OUTPATIENT
Nothing makes your first cup of coffee better than DEATH. This show, based on a true story, is ready to jump right in to our biggest fear.
From the description:
"DEATH. It's coming for us all, so why don't we talk about it? Well, OIive is bloody well going to. Via an earth-shattering piece of serious journalism that'll be her ticket off the entertainment desk and into a Pulitzer Prize. But when Olive starts recruiting dying people to interview for her hot take on mortality... the last thing she expects is to become one of them."
Aug 1-11, 13-18, 20-26
Summerhall - Anatomy Lecture Theatre
10:30 - 11:30
Alex Prescot: I’ve Got a Song for That
A little lighter, improvised musical comedy has become HOT at Edinburgh Fringe 2024, and Alex Prescot is here to scratch that itch. From the description: "The musical comic with a lightning-fast turnaround, Alex Prescot has some fresh new songs, some so fresh you’ll see them made up before your very eyes!" Aug 1-25 Laughing Horse @ City Cafe - Hollywood
10:20 - 11:05
Funny Bones
Another morning show about death! This show does look great though with use of puppets to tell a dynamic story, it has been on my radar for over a month now.
From the description:
"A clown contemplates life, death, and other laughing matters. After a disastrous bicycle accident, a professional circus performer is left to tame a stubborn soul who refuses to cooperate with his broken body."
Aug 1-12, 14-19, 21-26
Gilded Balloon Patter House - Nip
11:00 - 12:00
The Shroud Maker
What is sure to be a hard-hitting drama is the perfect way to star the day. But for real, what an intense subject matter that I think will be an excellent show. From the description: "Hajja Souad sells shrouds for burying the dead in Gaza. They're always in demand. This compelling, moving black comedy inspired by a real-life character takes us on the 70 year journey of her life, weaving a harrowing story of courage, love, escape and disappointment with comic fantasy and true stories to create a vivid portrait of life in Palestine before the recent heartbreaking events."
