Alice Diamond and The Forty Elephants - Review
Alice Diamond and The Forty Elephants is a magnificent production with time-transcending costumes and sets that instantly transported the entire audience.
With a cast of over 20, the show is stacked with talent and shows the magic of a strong director and dramaturg, with each actor understanding their role and queues and never breaking character or setting.
The piece's issues lie with an abrupt ending with little resolution, which left the audience questioning whether that was really the end. Additionally, with a big cast, it is difficult to follow who is who.
The mother was played by an actress around the same age and height as one of the younger girls, making it difficult to fully grasp who was having conversations at times.
A polished script could strengthen an otherwise intelligent and sharp production.
